All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and the New York Jets have reached an agreement on a four-year contract extension worth $96 million. The deal, which includes $66 million in guaranteed salary, makes Williams the second-highest paid defensive tackle in the NFL, behind only Aaron Donald of the Rams.
The guarantee is the largest in Jets history, surpassing the previous record set by linebacker C.J. Mosley. Williams will now earn an average of $24 million per year and will remain with the Jets through the 2027 season.
The signing of Williams could help with the Kansas City Chiefs negotiations with their All-Pro defensive lineman, Chris Jones, as the Williams’ signing will help set the numbers for the top players at that position in the National Football League.
