Trenton Middle School hosted an Elks “Hoop Shoot” competition on Saturday morning for area children, with winners advancing to districts, on Saturday, January 7th in Cameron.
In the ages 8 and 9 category, first-place winners were Mercer’s Kobe Hill for the boys, and Gallatin’s Kallie Salmon for the girls. Runner-up spots were won by Gallatin’s Pryce Johnston (boys) and Laredo’s Kenzie Lynch (girls).
In the ages 10 and 11 category, first-place winners were Grundy R-5’s Gabriel Meneses for the boys, and Laredo’s Lanie Lewis for the girls. Runner-up spots were won by Gilman City’s Wyatt Sutton (boys) and Tri-County’s Madison Reeter (girls).
In the ages 12 and 13 category, first-place winners were Grundy R-5’s Caden Gann for the boys, and Mercer’s Tori Meinecke for the girls. Runner-up[ spots were won by Gallatin’s Peyton Feiden (boys) and Grundy R-5’s Abby Webb (girls).
