The Grundy R-5 girls and boys routed the Raiders of Bucklin/Macon County on Monday night, as the 2017 edition of Holiday Hoops at North Central Missouri College reached its second night of action.
In the opener, the Lady Panthers rode 27 points from Jandie Peterson to a 62-30 win over BMC. Morgan Axtell added 18 points for Grundy, while Kellen Robertson had 18 of the Lady Raiders 30 point total.
The boys game saw the Panthers defense suffocate Bucklin/Macon County, in a 56-19 win for Grundy R-5. Caden Gann and Bryson Gann paced a balanced Panther offensive attack with 14 points each, while Wayne Baxter added 10 points.
Night #3 of Holiday Hoops begins at 4 o’clock this (Tuesday) afternoon, with a Higbee / Tina-Avalon doubleheader, with a girls game followed by the boys contest. The Tri-County Mustangs make the short trip from Jamesport to NCMC’s Ketcham Community Center for the evening session, with the Lady Mustangs playing Brashear at 7 o’clock, followed by the boys game between the Mustangs and Tigers at 8:30.
