The Green City Gophers racked up 108 points from the girls team and 121 from the boys, in claiming the Class 1, District 7 track and field team titles at Saturday’s competition held at South Harrison High School in Bethany. The Mercer girls finished just three points behind Green City, with 105 points, while the Princeton boys, with 112 points, finished nine points in back of the Gophers. The North Harrison girls and Winston boys finished in third place, with the Novinger girls and Meadville boys in fourth position.
Top four finishers advance to sectional competition this coming weekend.
