The Lawson Cardinals, with a team score of 179, edged the host Trenton Bulldogs score of 186 and Richmond’s 190, in boys golf triangular action at Riverside Country Club on Wednesday afternoon.
Trenton’s Riley Gott earned medalist honors with an afternoon-best nine hole score of 36, besting the runner-up score of 38 from Zander Coffman of Lawson and the third-place tally of 39 from THS junior Kiefer Tolson.
Other Trenton scores were Logan Roberts at 54, with Hunter Ledgerwood shooting 57, and Caleb Ray 66.
For Lawson, Coffman’s 38 was joined by tallies of 43 from Andrew Phipps, 45 for Laren Dietz, and a pair of 53’s from Draven Collier and Elijah Grote.
Richmond’s top score was a 44 from Morgan Battagler, with Noah Nichols and Brody Farnan carding matching 46’s, with a 54 from Kail Farnan and Bryer Farnan’s 55.
The Lawson JV shot 228 on the day, with Nick Hurst shooting a team-best 48. Richmond’s JV shot 229, paced by 52 from Kris Ostersky.
Weather conditions for the late afternoon competition at Riverside were ideal, with a 68 degree reading at the first tee under sunny skies.
