The Gilman City basketball teams spent the past week in the HDC Conference Tournament at Winston, finding mixed success throughout the event. The Ladyhawks would finish in third place, rebounding from a semifinal loss to Mercer to defeat Grundy County on Thursday night. The Gilman City boys continue to show rapid improvement in February, particularly in the area of scoring depth, with back-to-back wins over Newtown-Harris and Grundy County sending the Hawks to the consolation championship on Thursday night.
