Trenton High School brought three golfers to Wednesday’s Richmond Invitational at Shirkey Golf Course, with Werthen Gass breaking 100 with a score of 98, good for 19th place. Playing their best golf of the season, on arguably one of the toughest 18-hole tracts in northwest Missouri, Oakley Madden shot 105 for Trenton, for a tie for 32nd place (with Maryville’s Kylee Dougan and Smith-Cotton’s Morgan Mateja), while Maci Henson finished at 108, for a 38th place day.
Notre Dame de Sion dominated play throughout the tournament, with the top three scores on the course, including a two-under par total of 72 from medalist Megan Propeck. De Sion’s team total of 311 beat the runner-up tally of 366 by St. Teresa’s Academy by a decisive 55 stroke margin. Maryville, at 380, finished in third place. Richmond (412) was sixth, Kearney (418) in eighth, and Lawson (455) in the 11th position.
