The news for Scott Frost, struggling at his alma mater to rebuild the football program at the University of Nebraska, got worse this week, with reports indicating that the NCAA is investigating Frost for improper use of analysts, according to Brett McMurphy of the Action Network, citing sources. Other claims against the program indicate that Nebraska held unauthorized off-campus workouts under the direction of member of the Cornhuskers staff to avoid detection by the school itself.
Under Frost, Nebraska has not found firm footing in the Big 10 West, with a 12-20 combined record after three seasons, just 9-17 in the conference. NU has hired alum Trev Alberts as the new athletic director, the fourth in Lincoln since 2012. It has been since 1999 in the Big 12 since the Cornhuskers won a conference title.
