Former Washington State coach to sue university over wrongful termination

Nick Rolovich, the former football coach at Washington State University, has filed a $25,000,000 lawsuit against the school, citing wrongful termination, citing religious discrimination.

Rolovich was hired by Wazzu in 2020, and went 5-6 with the Cougars, but chose to not get the COVID-19 vaccine, and was subsequently fired, as Washington Governor Jay Inslee had required all state employees to receive the vaccine.  Rolovich cited his Catholicism as the reason for refusing the vaccine.

After accepting a 5-year contract worth $3.2 million per season at Washington State, Rolovich resigned from his previous position at the University of Hawaii as head football coach.
