The SEC regular season and tournament champion Alabama Crimson Tide are the top overall seed for the 2023 NCAA Tournament, after winning the Southeastern Conference Tournament championship on Sunday afternoon over Texas A&M. Alabama, in Monday’s final Associated Press poll of the regular season, grabbed 48 of 61 first-place votes to snare the top spot. Houston, after a championship game loss to Memphis in the American Athletic Conference championship game, dropped to #2, followed by Big Ten Tournament regular season champion Purdue, with Kansas fourth and Texas fifth. Kansas, Houston, and Purdue joined Alabama as top-seeds in the NCAA’s.
Marquette, after winning the Big East Tournament title, checks in at #6, with UCLA 7th after falling to Arizona in the Pac-12 title game. The Wildcats of Arizona are 8th, followed by Gonzaga and Connecticut.
