North Central Missouri College catcher Madi Trump, a Trenton native and 2014 graduate of Trenton High School, has been named a “Marucci Elite Hitter” by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).  The award for Trump is specifically for District J, representing a combination of Regions 11 and 16, which includes, in addition to NCMC, Crowder College, Jefferson College, Maple Woods College, St. Charles Community College, and Three Rivers Community College, in addition to Region 11 schools from the state of Iowa, in Southeastern Community College, Muscatine, Marshalltown, Iowa Western, and Indian Hills.

Unlike the basketball programs at North Central Missouri College, which play in NJCAA Division Two, the Pirates softball and baseball teams compete in Division One in the spring, putting Trump’s season among the very best in all of junior college softball.

In her sophomore season, Trump shattered numerous one-year and career hitting records at the Trenton school, hitting .507 in her final season with the Lady Pirates, with a slugging percentage of 1.051, 15 home runs, 28 doubles, 70 total hits, 74 RBI’s, and 65 runs scored, with an on-base percentage of .611.
