The East Buchanan Lady Bulldogs ripped through the Lathrop Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, going 5-0 to win the championship in the eight school, two pool event played at two different gymnasiums at the school building in Lathrop.
Trenton went 1-4 in the event, with three straight losses in pool play, to Lathrop (25-18, 25-13), East Buchanan (25-5, 25-8) and Wellington-Napoleon (25-21, 25-20). In a consolation bracket semifinal, the Lady Bulldogs defeated Orrick 25-9, 25-19, before a loss to Wellington-Napoleon in the consolation final 25-21, 17-25, 25-14.
For the Lady Bulldogs, Abby Simpson racked up 23 assists and 9 aces over the five games, with Makenzee Epperson 18 kills, Saige Gott with a pair of blocks, and Zoie McGowan 17 digs.
