Trenton High School junior Lathan Croy shot an 18-hole score of 13 over-par 82, tying Maryville’s Trey Oglesby in 22nd place after the first day of the Class 2 boy’s golf state tournament in Fremont Hills, Missouri.
Palmyra leads the team chase half-way through the event, with the Panthers putting up a score of 306, five better than second place Hermann. Bishop LeBlond, despite having two of the top three individual scores, only managed third place at 323. Maryville is in fifth place at 343.
Brooks Jungbluth of LeBlond has the individual lead with a two-under par score of 67. Jack Parker of Tolton Catholic is second at 68, with Hank Lierz of LeBlond at even-par 69, good for third place.
The top score from the immediate area, 10-over par 79, was shot by Ethan Green of the Penney (Hamilton) High School Hornets, good for a three-way tie for 16th place.
Trenton senior Nate Swann shot 84 on Monday, good for a six-way tie for 29th place. Trenton senior Corbyn Guile, with a first-day score of 97, is in 70th place. South Harrison High School’s Grant Taylor shot 104 on Monday.
