The Chillicothe Mudcats, down 3-0 going into the top of the 7th inning, scored a run in the 7th and two in the 8th to tie Friday night’s MINK League game in Clarinda, Iowa at 3. However, the host A’s tallied three times in the bottom of the 8th, emerging with a 6-3 win, as the teams played the first game of back-to-back contests. Chillicothe will host Clarinda on Saturday night at 7:05.
Chillicothe was very poor defensively in the loss, committing seven errors. Out of six runs scored by the A’s, only two were the direct result of RBI’s. Mudcat pitching held Clarinda to only five hits.
The Mudcat offense scuffled, amassing only three hits in the contest, as Chillicothe falls to 1-2 on the season, 1-1 in MINK League play.
In other MINK League finals from Friday night, Joplin went 13 innings to win at St. Joseph 7-6, Ozark took a 6-0 road win at Brandson, while Sedalia doubled up Nevada 4-2.
