Chillicothe High School girls golfer Hallie Jones, the 2019 Midland Empire Conference champion, completed her season on Tuesday with an 18-hole score of 91, and a two-day score of 183, good for a 14th place tie with Abby Boyer of Kirksville at the Class 1 state championships at Fremont Hills in Nixa, Missouri.
Springfield Catholic rolled to the state title with a two-day score of 628, well ahead of runner-up Tolton Catholic’s 645. Kirksville finished 7th at 916 and Savannah 8th place at 958.
Springfield Catholic had three of the top individual scores, led by state champion Kayla Pfitzner, with a two-day total of 146, five strokes better than her teammate Reagan Zibilski.

In the Class 2 state championships, St. Joseph’s Academy won the championship with a two-day total of 607, 15 strokes better than the 622 of Notre Dame de Sion. Jackson was third at 693. Brooke Biermann, with a blazing Tuesday round of 69, improved her score by five strokes from Monday, rallying for the state title, beating Megan Propeck of de Sion by two shots (143 to 145).
