The Kansas City Chiefs have lost another starter to injury, with third-year cornerback Jaylen Watson set for surgery to repair a broken fibula and tibia. Watson suffered the injury in the Sunday, October 20th victory at San Francisco. In a best-case scenario, the Washington State product could return in the playoffs, but there are indications that his season could be over.
Prior to the injury, Watson had started all six games this season with six pass break ups. The Chiefs brought him into the franchise as a seventh-round draft pick in 2022.
With his absence, the starting position is expected to transfer to either Joshua Williams or Nazeeh Johnson.
