Harbaugh played quarterback for the Chargers in 1999 and 2000, establishing a prior relationship with the team. The Chargers are seeking a new head coach and general manager after the recent dismissals of Brandon Staley and Tom Telesco.
Harbaugh is considering staying at Michigan, and he has received a lucrative offer from the university. He recently hired agent Don Yee to explore his options. The Chargers have interviewed several candidates for both coaching and general manager positions.
