The North Andrew Cardinals took the top spot in a close vote against Worth County, in the coaches preseason poll for the 8-man football side of the Grand River Conference. Out of 7 votes from the league’s coaches, North Andrew received four first-place votes for a total of 34 points, with Worth County earning three first-place tallies and 33 points.
The Stanberry Bulldogs were ranked third with 25 points, followed by King City (20), Albany (19), Pattonsburg (9), and St. Joseph Christian (8).
Regular season openers involving the GRC-8 this Friday night (August 26th) will include Bishop LeBlond at Pattonsburg, Rich Hill at Albany, St. Joseph Christian at Stanberry, South Holt / Nodaway-Holt at Worth County, and the marquee game in the GRC for Week #1, King City at North Andrew.
