The Lawson boys amassed 172 points, with the Lady Cardinals tallying 174 points, to hold off challenges from the runner-up Trenton Bulldogs, winning the team championships in Monday’s Nick Sloop Invitiational at Lawson High School.
Trenton’s boys had 113 points, followed by third place Excelsior Springs with 79. There were 10 schools in the boys event. The Trenton Lady Bulldogs totaled 160 points, followed by third-place Excelsior Springs with 105 points in the eight school girls competition.
