University of Missouri senior forward Kobe Brown is forgoing his final year of collegiate eligibility to enter the 2023 NBA Draft, leaving MU after a season that saw the Huntsville, Alabama native lead a Tiger hoops rebirth under first-year coach Dennis Gates, averaging 15.8 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in a season that reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The first round victory was the program’s first since 2010. The 25 victories in 2022-2023 were the third-highest total of the decade for the Tigers.
Brown, on Wednesday, announced his final decision to leave for the professional ranks. That was the final day for players to withdraw their names for the draft. The 6’8″ forward spent May in the NBA’s Draft combine, with numerous mock drafts placing him as a second-round prospect.
The 2023 NBA Draft will be held on Thursday, June 22nd at 7 o’clock from the Barclays Center, the home of the Brooklyn Nets. The proceedings will be aired on both ABC and ESPN.
