A number of 11-man and 8-man jamborees are scheduled over the next 48 hours, with a rare Thursday night jamboree slated for Lathrop, followed by numerous events over Friday night.
Trenton High School will travel to Lathrop High School, where the Mules host the Bulldogs, in addition to a North Platte Panthers squad coming off a Class 1 runner-up season in 2023. The three-team jamboree was originally scheduled for Friday night, but moved to Thursday night late last week. The start time for the jamboree from the Lathrop Athletic Complex is 6 o’clock, with admission prices of $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.
On Friday night, one of the newcomers to the Grand River Conference, the Marceline Tigers, travel to Shelbina for a four-team jamboree hosted by South Shelby High School. The Tigers will play Louisiana in the first session of the night, played on the field’s east end, with battles against Westran (west end), and South Shelby (east end) to follow. The jamboree starts at 7 o’clock.
The Gallatin Bulldogs will travel to Mid-Buchanan High School in Faucett, Missouri on Friday night, for a four-team jamboree that will include Maysville and West Platte. Start time is slated for 6 o’clock.
Other jamborees on the 11-man level on Friday night will be Polo, Kansas City East, and Lexington at Carrollton ( 7 PM), Hamilton and St. Mary’s at Milan (7 PM), and Brookfield, South Harrison, and Kirksville at Putnam County (7 PM).
Eight-man Friday night jamborees will be North Andrew, Pattonsburg, and Platte Valley at DeKalb (6 PM), Princeton, Northwest of Hughesville, and Slater at Keytesville (6 PM), Albany, King City, and Stanberry at Worth County (6 PM), Braymer and Southwest Livingston at Norborne/Hardin-Central (6 PM), and Drexel, KC East Christian, and Stewartsville-Osborn at St. Joseph Christian (7 PM). Schuyler County will host Knox County, North Shelby, and Paris at 6 o’clock.
