Trenton Bulldog fans will get their first opportunity to see the 2017 football team in the THS Black and Gold Scrimmage, scheduled for tonight (Friday, August 11th) at 7 o’clock at C.F. Russell Stadium.
The scrimmage will replace the three-team jamboree with Maysville and South Harrison, as all three schools balked at the chance to continue the series, generally citing the difficulties in playing a conference opponent in a pre-season setting. Trenton joined Maysville and South Harrison as a member of the Grand River Conference prior to the 2016 season, and will play South Harrison later this season at C.F. Russell Stadium, and travel to Cemetery Bowl to play the Wolverines of Maysville High School in Week #8 of the season.
The Bulldogs, during tonight’s scrimmage, will do various drills, before running a “controlled scrimmage”. Admission into C.F. Russell Stadium will be via donating either one bath or hand towel at the gate. Only the SOUTH gate of C.F. Russell Stadium will be utilized tonight, and the concession stands will not be open.
Trenton will open the regular season next Friday, August 18th, hosting the KCI Conference’s Lathrop Mules in a district quarterfinal rematch from last October. The Bulldogs / Mules tussle will be broadcast on Hot Country Z 101.7, with audio streaming available from KGOZ on the Tune-In Radio app. All Trenton football games will be shown on You Tube, on KTTN Radio’s You Tube page (www.youtube.com/KTTNRadio).
